Hello Everyone,
An exciting new project has sprung up at BALL Camp and we are eager to tell you about it!
One of our long-time campers, Coby Muchin - age 11 - has recently been named the California representative for a grass roots international organization called Project Beisbol. This Florida-based non-profit collects and delivers money, supplies, and equipment to kids in impoverished communities in Latin America so they can play baseball. Coby has spoken to the last two camper groups about this organization and has set up a collection bin at camp for Project Beisbol donations (we have already filled it to the brim twice!). Examples of accepted donations: usable bats, gloves, cleats, helmets, catcher's gear, clean but gently used pants, socks, jerseys, and hats.
Please consider sorting through your stash of baseball clothing and gear during the next two weeks and bringing your items to our camp site so Coby and the Project Beisbol team can get them to deserving young ball players in Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and other far away places. You can bring your donated items anytime between 8:30am-4pm to the following camp locations:
June 26-30 - Caldecott
Aug. 2-6 - Chabot
Thank you in advance for supporting our enterprising young friend Coby and his worthwhile endeavor!
Cheers,
Scott & Debbie Bonzell
